Weekly eUpdate

The Week Ahead

This Sunday is 7th Sunday of Easter and the Ascension of the Lord will be noted. Linda's message will be on “Waiting.” The choir will sing “Non Nobis Domine.” The Session will hold its regular monthly meeting after Sunday School.

We will be celebrating our college graduates during fellowship time. The following people will graduate this week: Mark Frimpong, Kaitlyn Noone, Cole Stetler, Aran Garnet-Deakin, and Bonnie Angermeier. We will also celebrate Darrell Storholt who finished his program at the end of the fall semester.

The Adult Forum will have three guest speakers from the Quaker Meeting House.

The Prayers and Squares group will not meet this week.

Celebrating our Nonagenarians

Last Sunday, Northside recognized our friends who have passed their 90th birthday. There was a celebration for Emily Bender's 96th birthday (May 12). Lucian's mother-in-law Norma is also celebrating a birthday this month, so was included in the festivities. Barbara Dickerson is also a member of that distinguished group.

A New Directory is Coming

The planets are starting to align and work in earnest has begun to collect, correct, and update contact information for Northside's members and friends. This will include a check of mailing address, email address, phone numbers, and birthdates (year optional). Update steps will include an email from ChurchTrac (the system we use to keep up with directory info), and paper copies of directory info in the Narthex to check. Once all the updates are in, a new directory will be available this summer.

Monday Night Supper

This week's meal was baked pasta and meatballs, tossed salad, garlic bread, fruit and cookies. We served 93 meals.

Thanks to our volunteers this week: Marge and George, Rosemary and Steve, Barbara, Marshall, Alex A., Kobbie, Susan, and Heidi and Bruce.

Bag Collection: If you have groceries delivered from Kroger, please save the large delivery bags and bring them to the church. If you have friends who get deliveries and don't know what to do with the bags, we can use them. They are the right size to pack multiple meals for delivery to the parking lot. It is a good way to recycle the bags, reducing the need to order brown paper shopping bags.

Volunteers to help prepare and pack meals are always welcome and needed.
