The Week Ahead
This Sunday is the fifth Sunday after Epiphany. Linda's message is "Mending Walls.” The choir will perform “This Little Light of Mine.” We will welcome Bill Rumley as a member of Northside as he joins by transfer from First Presbyterian Church, Norfolk. We will also collect the 2 Cents a Meal Offering, which supports hunger programs, including our Monday Night Supper.
Lucian will be teaching the adult Sunday School class. This Sunday, he will lead the class on "Alcoholism" and on next week he will lead the class on "Healthy Investing."
Ron Pearson’s memorial service was postponed from Saturday, January 31, due to the inclement weather. A make-up date will be announced as plans are made. |

Suggested items are hearty/chunky soups, canned fruit, instant oatmeal, chili, toothpaste, and soap. Cash and Kroger gift cards are also acceptable. There will be collection pots in the narthex. Housing Crisis Film Study
Join in on a church-wide film study on this excellent documentary, “Evicting the American Dream,” about homelessness, the U.S. housing crisis, and its impacts on children. We will gather weekly online after having watched each week’s segment of the film. We will hear from featured speakers and discuss issues of redlining, housing commodification, eviction, the impact of housing insecurity on children, and ways to take action in our own communities. The sessions will be on Monday, Feb. 9, 16, and 23 from 7:30-8:45 pm.
Advanced registration is required to receive the Zoom meeting links and instructions to view the film segments each week. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with these instructions.
To see a clip from the film, visit https://pcusa.org/evicting-american-dream.
This film study is offered by collaborative ministries within the Unified Agency (UA) including Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Self-Development of People, Presbyterian Hunger Program and Global Ecumenical Partnerships; the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program (PILP); and PC(USA) mid-council and congregational leaders on systemic poverty.
